Amnesty International and other Organizations Present 10 Demands to the Federal Council

May 27, 2025 – Amnesty International Switzerland, Jewish Voice for Democracy and Justice in Israel/Palestine, Swiss Humanity Initiative, and Palestine Solidarity Switzerland note that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is catastrophic and continues to deteriorate. Former Federal Councillors Ruth Dreifuss and Micheline Calmy-Rey are among the signatories of the open letter. These organizations present the following 10 demands:

Diplomatic engagement for a ceasefire.

Humanitarian access and funding for UNRWA.

Release of all Israeli hostages and Palestinian political prisoners.

Public legal assessment of the situation in Gaza.

Cooperation with and support for international criminal prosecution bodies.

Suspension of security-related exports.

Condemnation of calls for illegal transfer or deportation.

Support and strengthening of economic measures to protect international law.

Commitment to a political solution based on international law.

Commitment to a preventive international law policy.
