September 2, 2025 – Mediapart – “Israel’s policies and actions in Gaza meet the legal definition of genocide as set forth in Article II of the United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.” This is the conclusion, made public on September 1st, by the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS), one of the leading organizations of specialists on the issue, which brings together 500 members worldwide.
Since its creation in 1994, the association of genocide scholars has adopted thirteen resolutions recognizing historical or current episodes as genocides. The association’s resolutions must be approved by at least a two-thirds majority.
The Resolution
