September 5, 2025 – WHO – Famine is spreading from north to south and by the end of September, will reach unprecedented levels.

In its statement, the World Health Organization (WHO) declares that “More than half a million people in Gaza are facing famine and are therefore confronted with starvation, destitution, and preventable deaths (…). According to projections, these famine conditions are expected to spread from the Gaza Governorate to those of Deir el-Balah and Khan Younis in the coming weeks.” The WHO specifies that “by the end of September, across the entire Gaza Strip, more than 640,000 people will face catastrophic levels of food insecurity.”
